The origins of this colorful costume jewelry

The Botanica jewel is inspired by the eggplant, a vegetable that has long been perceived as a dangerous plant in Europe. Introduced to the Mediterranean in the Middle Ages, the eggplant was sometimes nicknamed the "devil's apple" because of its strange shape and dark color, which caused fears.
Due to its botanical family, theSolanaceae, which includes plants such as belladonna, was perceived as toxic.

It was only later, after being cultivated and experimented with, that it was recognized as an edible and nutritious food, becoming a common ingredient in cuisines around the world.
